Charlene James wins the Alfred Fagon Award for Best New Play of the Year Award for her play Cuttin’ It. She was presented with her award and a prize cheque for £6,000 from Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin in front of a packed audience at The Dorfman, National Theatre on 20 November.
After the presentation a rehearsed reading of the play was performed, directed by Ola Ince and starring Susan Wokoma and Mimi Ndweni.
The Alfred Fagon Award for Best New Play of the Year is supported by The Peggy Ramsay Foundation.
