The Alfred Fagon Award recognizes and celebrates Black British Playwrights of Caribbean and African descent.
The Alfred Fagon Award for Best New Play of the Year is supported by The Peggy Ramsay Foundation and individual donors. The £6,000 prize is awarded annually from an open call for submissions.
The Roland Rees Bursary is supported by a legacy from the Roland Rees Estate. The £3,000 bursary is awarded annually by the Trustees to a playwright to enable them to devote more time to their writing.
The Mustapha Matura Award and Mentoring Programme supports newly emerging and young black playwrights of Caribbean and African descent up to the age of 25. This prize is awarded annually from an open call for submissions. The £3,000 prize and mentoring programme is supported by the Estate of Mustapha Matura, Garrick Charitable Trust and The Henry and Mary Kent Trust and many individual donors.
